The miracle of birth

Every cattle farmer will tell you, calving season is the best and worst time of the year. The hours are long. The work is exhausting. And sometimes despite all of your best efforts things go wrong.

But some days, everything goes right. When I find myself standing in the sunshine watching a cow give birth to a healthy vigorous calf, I am reminded of why I love raising livestock. I am reminded that my profession is one of the few that gets the privilege of bringing new life into the world.

So I thought I would share this, the best part of my job, with you. Whether you have never seen a calf born, or maybe assisted hundreds, grab a coffee on this Sunday morning and take the next 2 minutes to reflect on the miracle of new life in spring.

In real time, this took less than 10 minutes.  It is amazing how simple birth can be. I hope this clip brightened your morning and helps you see nature’s miracles everywhere. If it did, please share and brighten someone else’s day.

Whether it is the first birth you’ve witnessed or the thousandth , the miracle is the same. Nice article Leigh.
